Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has awarded US$ 14 million contract to Emerson Process Management for its pipelines on the Uran Trunk Line in Mumbai. As per the contract, Emerson will provide fiscal flow metering systems for one of the largest sub-sea oil & gas pipeline projects in the Asia-Pacific region. Oil & gas delivered through two new sub-sea pipelines to the Uran onshore processing plant will lay the groundwork for tapping into the Bombay High Offshore region, according to Emerson officials.
As part of its contract, Emerson will engineer and deliver its crude oil and gas metering systems on 12 oil & gas metering skids, which work to ensure accurate and reliable measurement of oil and gas volume, quality, composition and calorific value.
The transfer measurement of oil & gas is key for fiscal accounting and taxation purposes. "We are pleased to be combining our fiscal metering expertise and flow measurement technology into a solution that is vital to the performance of the pipeline and that will support the economic development of India," informed John Berra, President of Emerson Process Management.
