As part of a major capacity expansion plan, the New Delhi- based Ind-Swift Ltd is setting up three speciality manufacturing units in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The company, which is in the implementation stage of this expansion with an investment of more than Rs 100 crore, would complete the projects over a period of 6- 9 months.
The three units include a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) at Lalru, Punjab, a new finished dosage facility at Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) and a new unit at Samba, Jammu. The unit at Jammu is expected to start production in June 2005 and the other two units are expected to be operational by September 2005. In addition to the ongoing expansion in the manufacturing front, the company has also invested in Baddi to purchase 7 acres of land for setting up a new formulation facility dedicated for the manufacturing of oncology, cephalosporins, beta Lactum, herbal and neutraceutical products. The facility will be one of the largest in terms of capacity in the country The Companys EOU plant would comply to European, TGA and MCA standards.
