The Thiruvananthapuram-based Pure Petrochem India Pvt Ltd, makers of the Action brand of speciality greases and lubricating oils, plans to start a manufacturing unit in Chennai. The company, which has two manufacturing units in Thiruvananthapuram, plans to manufacture speciality greases at its Chennai plant, informed K R Padmakumar, Chief Executive, Pure Petrochem India Pvt Ltd. The Chennai plant is expected to help the company increase sales of its products in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The company is also preparing to expand its manufacturing facility at the Kinfra Small Industries Park on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram. This unit, which started operations in February, was set up with an investment of Rs 2.97 crore and produces both speciality greases and lubricating oils, Padmakumar said. Once the expansion of this unit is complete, the company intends to look at exporting its products, he added.
