The Canadian engineering major SNC Lavalin Inc has acquired the Mumbai-based RJ Associates, a privately held leading engineering consultancy company, for an undisclosed amount. As part of the overseas acquisition, the Canadian company has also bought over the 11% equity in R J Associates, which was held by Sumitomo Chemicals Engineering Co of Japan. The company, which has been active in the turnkey and other engineering projects both in India and abroad, will, however, remain as a strategic partner with Sumitomo.
