Larsen & Toubro has finalised plans to set up a manufacturing facility for switchgears in China, which will be its first in China, on its own. As part of its Gulf penetration plan, L&T is exploring the option of setting up two new joint ventures in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait to give a boost to its construction business. The company will also set up an integrated engineering and project management centre at Abu Dhabi, which will be its positioned as L&Ts Gulf headquarters and house around 350 superior engineers by 2009-10.
