The Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay has gone international! Indias leading institute has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National University of Singapore for joint degree programmes. The two educational institutions will offer joint degree programmes in advanced engineering materials covering nanostructures, hybrids, micro-fabrication and micro-devices, biomaterials, electronic materials and chemical engineering material. Both IIT and NUS professors will teach together and supervise these programmes in India and Singapore via teleconferencing. The partnership is expected to yield 40 MS and eight PhD graduates every year. Selection of students will be based on GATE (IIT Graduate Admission Test in Engineering), GRE, TOEF Land an interview. Under the programme, IIT is hoping to develop its smart classroom facilities for course delivery to Singapore, while also furthering its distance education programme within India. |
