Auto sales remained placid during July this year. The countrys largest car maker Maruti Udyog vehicle sales were flat last month compared to July 04. It sold 40,553 vehicles in July against 40,175 vehicles sold in the same month last year. The companys total sale in July was 44,753 units including export of 4,200 units.
Hero Honda Motors reported 12% growth in motorcycle sales last month compared to the July 04. it sold 2,30,050 motorcycles as against 2,05,654 in the corresponding month last year. The company blamed supply constraints due to a volatile labour situation in parts of Haryana for a "slower" growth.
Bajaj Autos motorcycle sales for the month grew by 11.5% during July05. The company blamed it on production constraints for CT-100 due to non-availability of tyres. TVS Motor Companys total two wheeler sales in July05 remained flat. The company sold 101,359 units last month as compared to 1,00,224 units, during the same month last year.
