Tata Motors reported a total sale of 33,018 vehicles (including exports) for the month of June 05, a growth of 9.4 per cent over 30183 vehicles sold in June last year. Growing sales for the company at 87496 numbers are growing by 3 per cent this fiscal. The companys sales in June 05 in the domestic market stood at 29,981 numbers as against 28,522 vehicles sold last year, an increase of 5.1 per cent. The companys sales of commercial vehicles in June 05 in the domestic market stood at 15,530 numbers, an increase of 15.5 per cent over 13,445 numbers sold in June last year. M&HCV sales at 9574 numbers grew 2.3 per cent and LCV sales at 5956 numbers grew 45.6 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The passenger vehicle business reported a sale of 14,451 vehicles in June 05 in the domestic market. The Indica registered a sale of 8700 numbers while the Indigo registered a sale of 2937 numbers.
Utility vehicles accounted for sales of 2814 vehicles in June 05. The companys sales from exports were 3037 vehicles in June 05 as compared to 1661 vehicles in June 04, an increase of 82.8 per cent. In other news, Tata Motors has intensified its attack through a multi-pronged campaign against the sale of fake spare parts using the Tata brand name. The company recently conducted a raid on a godown at Bhajanpura, Delhi, under senior police inspector, S R Meena and seized 649 units of centre bearing housing (rubber of models 1613, 407 and 709) worth over Rs. 1.5 lakhs.
