NTPC to position power station in Sri Lanka
National Thermal Power Corporation INTPC) is planning to set up a 900-MW coal or LNG-based power plant in Sri Lanka. The Rs 26,000-ci-ore company will submit a proposal, to the Sri Lankan government to set up the project either on a build, own, operate or on a build, own, operate and transfer basis. The utility will also set up a joint venture company with Bihar State Electricity Board [BSEB] to operate the 220-MW Muzzaffarpur thermal power station.
