Micromatic Machine Tools Pvt Ltd (MMTPL), a leading manufacturer of CNC machines, is considering opening an office in China. According to T K Ramesh, vice-president, MMTPL, Bangalore, part of the Ace Micromatic group, the company wants to benefit from Chinas efforts to become a global outsourcing hub. The company plans to open an office near Shanghai, with an Indian staff, to look after machine imports, and customizing. A local dealer would be appointed as a distributor. MMTPL plans to sell 30 machines during the first year, with around 200 in the second. Currently, the company exports to France, Italy, and Germany. Australia, and ITS. Ramesh also mentioned that, in addition to their centre in Pune, the company would open a chain of technical centres, to help buyers decide the type of CNC machines they would like to purchase. C R Raguramachandran, assistant manager, marketing, said the companys earnings from CNC machines last year were around Rs 20 crore, and expected to increase by 30 per cent. |
