Three - wheelers have improved their perfomance in August05 , turning in the highest growth rate of 28.5% over August 04, topping off a 14% increase in April - August 05 sales , the highest in the year to date period as well. Lot of the growth can be traced to new launches by leading players ,finance schemes as well as the replacement of older 3-wheelers with new ones that abide with the pollution- control-norms now active in most demand centres like the metro cities. 2 weelers are the largest segment in automobiles that are growing at 18% for aug05 and 13% in april-august 05. The superior fuel effeciency of 2-wheelers especially motorbikes ,is likely to make them even more attractive in the coming months. Finance schemes as well marketing activity continue to drive sales.
