Hutch rolled out small recharge coupons that start from as low as Rs 10 to increase usage among low end subscribers. If the customer opts to recharge the pre-paid account within the validity period than chotta recharge coupons which ranges from Rs10 to Rs 198 offers full talk time. The attempt by the cellular operator is to bring about a significant change in pre-paid users usage pattern and the mobile industry as a whole. Vice - President of hutch said" With this scheme, going mobile will become affordable and low cost recharges with full talktime will encourage increased usage." Chopra explained "With chotta recharge ,they can recharge for any amount beginning Rs 10 .To begin with ,recharge cards will also be available in the denomination of Rs 10,Rs 55, and Rs 110. 10.2% service tax will have to be paid by Hutch and Orange users and the processing fee will not be deducted. One can recharge any no of times within the validity period any processing fee .Chopra added " On recharges after validity , processing fee and service tax will be charged. " All this effort is also to try and increase volumes and increase the average rate per user , which is decreasing due to the fact that most new customers are coming into the pre-paid space. With this pricing strategy where it is expected that people re-charge more often within the validity period ends could in some way try and increase their average rate per user. |
