Engineer -Procure-Contract has been bagged by Larsen and Toubro valued at Rs 495 crores for major construction projects at the proposed Hyderabad International Airport.The contract is signed by L& T and HIAL ,envisages project completion in 30 months. By 2008 the new international project is expected to be open to traffic by 2008. Against the stiff competition from global bidders L & T has secured the contract. The company wants to build the cargo terminal building,ground handling workshops and other buildings as well as it will construct the runway,taxiway and aprons to accommodate wide body planes including new generation aircraft such as A380. L&T and its Oman based subsidiary have expanded its presence in the gulf by securing 5 contracts valued at Rs 467 crores for the construction of major water supply projects and several high rise buildings.L&T has secured two contracts in the gulf water sector valued at Rs 195 crore from the ministry of housing ,electricity and water of the sultanate of Oman. In UAE the companys construction division won three orders in the urban imfrastructure sector at Rs 272 crore. 2 contracts earned at the value of of Rs117 crore covers construction of two 39-storied commercial and office buildings in Dubai .Within 20 months the complexes would be built at Jumeirah Lakes In the Nakheel Area of Dubai . The third contract at Rs 155 crore has been secured from Trident International Holdings, Hong Kong, for construction of 2 towers and associated structures at Marsa, Dubai Marina.L & T is executing the waterfront tower at dubai for Trident International Holdings. |
