Motorcycle sales for the month of July 2005 have posted a growth of 11.5% over the same period last year. In July 2004 the company sold 115,216 motorcycles compared to 103.260 units in July 2004. The sales of two-wheeler for the month stood at 126,821 units while two-and three wheeler sales for the month stood at 149,406 units. Segment leader Pulsar DTSI clocked 27,551 units in july 2005 while the sales of CT 100 were restricted to 75,000 units due to some production constraints. The company is expecting to launch a new motorcycle by january 2006 with the USP of a new fuel efficiency benchmark.The company sold 5,565 units of the recently introduced wave DTSi .The company is also working towards expanding its motorcycle capacity to 200,000 units per month byoctober 2005. |
