Textile machinery concern Saurer signed the contract for the take-over of the Australian
Company Fehrer AG in Linz, at the beginning of May this year. Fehrer, with its product program of needling machines and the aerodymanic carding system, will be integrated in to nonwoven technology portfolio of the Saurer Business unit in Neumunster,Germany. In the production process of carded nonwovens from long fibres Fehrers needling technology is the main component.Saurer nonwoven tecnology platform today comprises the main key technologies of the varied producing methods for spunbound,airlaid and carded nonwoven as well as different bonding technologies. Saurer now has the strategic access to newwoven market segments such as automotive ,carpet or geotextiles.The nonwoven portfolio ,which is unique in the textile industry,includes the Fehrer needling and aerodynamic carding technology,the Neumag spunbound and meltblown technology,the M&J airlaid tehnology , the Autefa crosslapping technology and the Kortec festooning technology.
