In the capital to launch the latest offering from the blue oval -the Ford Fiesta -Bill Ford put india right at the top of the companys growth list. He said, "When we talk about optimising our global foot print we mean investing in areas that are growing. This market is critical to our plans for building a Ford Motor Company for the 21st century." CEO of Ford Motor Company said "We are especially excited about the potential we see here in India. As one of the fastest growing markets in the world, India is a top priority for us. A new economic order is developing here, while growing purchasing power and a strong desire for personal mobility."Fords India plans are part of its Asian test drive. Ford India, the growth graph would mean more aggression , though not in the big-volume B-segment .India will feature firmly in Fords sourcing map though the decision here will be led by quality, price and delivery nimbleness.Bill Ford said " Ford will always evaluate outsourcing opportunities worldwide whether it is from India or China or Brazil or Turkey." "But our decision to source is driven by quality and delivery track record. All our sourcing is necessarily global, so there is no specific target for India or any other market."He further added. The Fiesta will be available in a 1.6-litre turbo direct common rail injection diesel engine. Prices shall be announced within the next two weeks. |
