A new technique being developed for the US army by researchers at the University of Washington that in Seattle can relieve body pain without drug injections. According to new scientist.com, a controlled dose of ultrasound can temporarily stun a nerve, killing pain without the need for drug injections. For instance, hitting nerves in the forehead will cause temporary paralysis ,reducing wrinkles and making the patient look younger for a while, without the need for a toxin. The new treatment uses a weak, but focussed beam of sound at 3 megahertz to image a nerve.
