Bharat Earth Movers Ltd has signed a Memorandum of understanding with South Koreas Rotem for the manufacture and marketing of aerobridges deployed at airport terminals.Rotem has supplied aerobridges to airports in South Korea and outside. There will be a demand for 58 passenger aerobridges in the next three-four years due to the boom in the civil aviation sector and with the greenfield airport projects coming up at Banglore and Hyderabad and the proposed expansion and modernisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports,a BEML release said. The new international airports coming up at Banglore and Hyderabad alone will each require 10 aerobridges and the rest of the business is expected from other airports apart from after-sale-service and supply of spares. The defence sector PSU supplies civil and military aviation equipment such as crash fire tender, aircraft towing tractor and weapon loading system.
