Fords premieum brand Jaguar is not for sale, the head of Fords European business said on Monday,dismissing talk that the second biggest US carmaker might part with the loss-making brand. "No.There are no truths in those persistent rumours."Lewis Booth said when asked if Jaguar were for sale.Market talk has circulated of late that French carmaker Renault could be interested.Booth also stuck to a forecast that Ford of Europe would generate a 05 pretax profit of $100-200m ."P think were on track for that,"he said after a meeting in Brussels with European Union and auto industry executives.He said Ford of Europe was set to cut 2,600 jobs as planned via voluntary redundancy packages without resorting to forced layoffs."We believe were going to get there almost certainly by voluntary action."he said. |
