Lenzing Group to increase fibre prices from 2006 by 5%
The Lenzing Group, world leader in the production of man-made cellulose fibres, will increase fibre prices by atleast five percent at the beginning of the first quarter 2006.The exact price increases will depend on the fibre type. The new prices apply to textile and nonwoven fibres. This further rise of fibre prices is necessary due to the steady price increase of raw materials and rising energy costs at all Lenzing production sites during the past weeks. The exorbitant hike of costs for raw materials and energy cannot be compensated by the price increases that are being implemented by Lenzing in the fourth quarter 2005,so that this further fibre price increase is necessary.
The Lenzing Group is an international corporate group with headquarters in upper Australia. The company focus is on quality and innovation I the field of manmade cellulose fibres. The fibres -viscose ,lyocell and modal-are produced from the renewable resource wood. They are used in the textile industry (in fashion and for domestic and technical fabrics),as well as in the nonwoven industry (for personal care, medical and cosmetics products). Moreover, the group is active in the fields of engineering and systems construction, and plastics and paper.
