Leading textile player register 24% increase in net profit
Alok Industries Limited, has achieved a 24.07% growth in net profit to Rs 25.46 crore for its second quarter that ended on September30,2005.Net sales in the quarter were up by 23.20%to Rs 345.44 crore.Increase in total sales is across all the divisions of the company with maximum growth being seen in home textiles and polyester yarn business.Reflecting the companys shift towards value added products ,the EBITDA increased to Rs 71.47 crore recording an increase of 32.87%.Several factors like buoyant local and export demand,and the companys aggressive marketing strategy and capacity expansion drive amongst others are attributed for this consistent perfomance.
The export turnover of the company was Rs 88.82 crore rgistering a growth of 17.91% driven by the increased exports in home textiles division.Alok is among the new generation textile companies,that is uniquely positioned to provide Integrated Textile Solutions through a versatile product range encompassing home textiles,apparel fabrics, garments and polyester yarn.Company recently bagged the coveted silver trophy award for the year 2004-05 from Texprocil in the Manufacturer Exporter -Madeup category.The company commissioned its new wider-width processing capacity at Vapi recently.The companys other expansion programs are progressing satisfactorily.
