Gigabyte Technology of Taiwan ,a leading manufacturer of mother boards, and computer peripherals ,already a major brand in India for motherboards,has entered into 49-51% joint venture with erstwhile partner and associate in India, D-Link(India) Ltd, to form Gigabyte Technology India Ltd.With the Indian company holding majority share ,the new venture will launch the entire Gigabyte range of products including laptops, LCD monitors, keyboard/mouse, servers, USB flash drives, thin cards,etc.Its range of motherboards,graphic cards and otical disk drives (ODDs) has already been introduced in the country earlier.Mitchell Liu, Vice Chairman and one of the cofounders of this over US $1.1bn compan with global operations, was in India recently to announce the deal.The Taiwanese company has four major manufacturing plants, two each in Taiwan and China, and operations all over the world.
