After river water,gas is the new concept in the enrgy sector of Uttaranchal.The government has roped in GAIL to jointly examine various project opportunities for natural gas in the state and undertake extension of the national Gas Grid to Uttaranchal.For this purpose, the State Industrial Development Corporation of the national Gas Grid to Uttaranchal .For this purpose, the State Industrial Development Corporation of the national Gas Grid to Uttaranchal signed a MoU with GAIL recently.The gas corporation agreement will initiate a joint exercise for assessment of the demand of the natural gas and allied prodcuts in Uttaranchal. It will also promote usage of gas like CNG and piped natural gas in the state. The first route will lay a 95km pipeline network to Rudrapur, Rampanagar and Haldwani form Bareilly.The other route is envisaged in an extension of gasp pipeline from Dadri to Haridwar and then to Dehradun after laying pipeline of 200 km length. |
