Sterlite Industries India has reported a 64.6% increase in its second quarter net profit at Rs 81.1 crore,thanks to higher production and 138% increase in copper treatment and refining charges (TC/RC) to 15.7 cents/pounds in the first half of the current fiscal. TC/RC is the fees paid to a custom smelter for extracting copper from copper concentrate. The gross turnover for the quarter rose to 67% at Rs 1,808.6 crore,while EBIDTA during the quarter increased 60.9% to Rs 157.9 crore.
