The retailing industry that contributes to about 4% of the national GDP is growing at around 8% year on year with organized galloping at a growth rate of more than 25%. Earlier organized retail was adding 1m square feet of space, the space has quickened exponentially. According to a study, about 200 malls are to come by the year 2006, adding more than 40m square feet retail space within the next 2-3 years. |
