Corus may set up steel plant in India
An expert team of Corns is going to visit Keonjhar district to study facilities for companys proposed venture of setting 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) capacity steel plant in Orissa. The team will meet for an internal discussion to take a decision whether to file a formal proposal for the steel plant London-based steel and aluminium major. It has been in constant touch with the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Orissa Ltd (IPICOL) over the proposal. Orissa government has so far signed 43 memorandum of understandings for production of 58 mtpa steel and received investment proposals of a whopping Rs 1,37,000 crore. Recently, Russian steel major MMK had evinced interest for setting up a 10 mtpa capacity steel plant in the state.
