Hot metal production of Indias largest private sector steel maker, Tata Steel Ltd, had surpassed 5 million T for the first time after its expanded facility came on stream. The company had revamped one of its blast furnaces in April 2005 to double its capacity to 2 million T in April. Tata is expanding its steel capacity to 7.5 million T by 2008. |
