`Exponut 2006 - an international trade fair of nuts, dried fruits, products and technologies - will be held at Istanbul in Turkey from 22 to 24 June 2006.
A five-member Indiandelegation under the leadership of its Chairman, Mr Walter DSouza of Cashew Export Promotion Council of India (CEPCI) , would participate in the event.
The earlier versions of Istanbul Exponut trade fairs have attracted over 3,000 importers from 45 countries.
Export of cashew to Turkey has witnessed a rapid growth in the past two years, and the role of this delegation assumes significance against this backdrop. Added to this, the Union Ministry of Commerce has identified Turkey among the 57 countries recently notified under the `focus market category.
During the visit, the delegation will hold an exclusive conclave of the existing and the prospective importers of cashew. Mr DSouza will make a presentation on Indian cashew. Turkish importers will be invited to participate in the global buyer-seller meet of CEPCI, to be held at Thiruvananthapuram in September.
