The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval on Thursday for implementing the upgradation proposal of 13 medical institutions in the country.
The institutions are one each in the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat and West Bengal and two institutions in Andhra Pradesh.
The Cabinet also gave its nod for upgradation of Government Medical College, Srinagar, and one more public institution in Uttar Pradesh.
The institutions will be upgraded under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana with a base cost of Rs 1,560 crore
