APS Automatic Silk Reeling Company of Amutham Knitting group plans a silk reeling project. The project will cost Rs 2-crore. It includes import of the automatic silk reeling plant from China and locate it at Perundurai near Erode.The plant will start operating by January 2007.
The unit with a per day reeling capacity of 600/700 kg is importing the entire machinery from Hangzsu Textile Machinery Ltd from China and the value of the machinery would be around Rs 1 crore.
While the company stands to get 25 per cent of the project cost as capital subsidy eligible under the project from the Central board, it has tied up with Canara Bank for project finance, including term lending for machinery.
