Renascent, a Canadian rehabilitation and research centre for drug addicts, has joined hands with Hope Trust, the Hyderabad-based rehabilitation centre, for collaboration in research and exchange of best practices, ideas and staff. The collaboration also called for online interaction and web links. Both the organisations followed the globally accepted 12-step programme to help out the addicts.
Hope Trust would introduce Diploma courses in Addiction Counselling. Also, the trust would set up a 100-bed facility in five years on the outskirts of the city. The trust had initiated a joint study with the CCMB (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology) to study the epidemiological aspects of addiction.
