Nabard has proposed to team-up with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to Rs 2,000-crore milk project in the country. The FI, which will provide a substantial part of the funds required for the project, sees this as a major initiative to encourage animal husbandry. The project will cover various other aspects of the business, including breeding stations and chilling plants. NDDB, known for its efforts to mobilise grassroots milk producers and closely identified with the epithet `Operation Flood, is expected to play a critical role in the venture. |
