On 31 July 2006, the Bombay High Court sanctioned the composite scheme of arrangement in respect of the amalgamation of the Herbertsons with McDowel & Company.
With this, the scheme has now been sanctioned in the case of McDowell & Company, the Company, Phipson Distillery, United Spirits, United Distillers India, McDowell International Brands India and McDowell India Spirits. Approval in case of remaining companies viz., Shaw Wallace Distilleries, Baramati Grape Industries and Triumph Distillers & Vintners, of the Bombay High Court is expected shortly, after which the Scheme will be effective.
