Xerox India Ltd has launched its next generation digital production press - Xerox iGen3. According to company sources, the latest roll out is the result of a $1-billion global research and development investment and includes over 300 patents worldwide. The Xerox iGen3 has an inbuilt third generation innovative smart press technology to allow flexibility, quick turn around and economics to match the output of offset print quality. Speaking at the launch of Xerox iGen3, Mr Andrew Horne, Managing Director, Xerox India Ltd, reiterated the companys commitment to bringing the latest technological advancements to the Indian market. He said digital printing industry projected to grow to $17 billion by 2010 from an estimated $11 billion in 2005 (as per print and packaging research organisation, Pira International). The companys Production Systems Group Director, Mr Vipin Tuteja, said iGen3 was set to revolutionise the way digital printing was done in India with benefits such as short run printing, on-demand printing, personalised communication in addition to the ecological benefit.
