The overseas division of the Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), named the VSNL Global Services has announced that it has signed a strategic sourcing contract with the Global Capacity. The Global Capacity is a well known US-based telecommunication logistics company and the VSNL Global Services is a specialist in the outsourced carrier operations. The news has been informed by a statement released recently by the company and the statement also said that the Global Capacity will be able to scale up its operations with the help of this agreement.
The statement further said that as the Global Capacity will have the capability to establish an international network operations center (NOC), its operations capacity will also be increased. The company will also be able to utilise the additional network analyst and provisioning resources of VSNL Global Services, under this new agreement. The CEO of the Global Capacity, Mr. Patrick Shutt was commenting on the new agreement signing and said, "A high quality, scalable service delivery capability is critical to support the rapid adoption of our solutions by our expanding global customer base".
Mr. Shutt also added, "By coupling the resources and capabilities of VSNL Global Services with the core expertise and systems of Global Capacity, we have created a cost effective service delivery capability that exceeds our customers expectations both immediately and into the future". He also informed that the international operations center, set up jointly by the companies is located in Pune and it will work in combination with the network operations center of Global Capacity in Waltham, MA. The center will also be working on providing "follow the sun" support for the increasingly international customer base of Global Capacity.
The other half of the contract signing, the VSNL Global Services COO, Mr. V S Shridhar was also expressing his views about the agreement and said, "We are pleased that Patrick and his team have chosen VSNL Global Services as their strategic sourcing partner". He also added, "We believe Global Capacity has developed a unique model and has an unrivaled group of talented industry experts that are creating tremendous value in the market. There are strong similarities in how our two companies do business, and VGSL is very well positioned to help Global Capacity successfully manage its rapid growth".
