The construction company named Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has recently stated that the state government of Uttar Pradesh has awarded an work order worth Rs 30,000 crore to the company. The officials of the Delhi-based JP Associates have informed that the project is named as the Ganga expressway project and the company will build this 1,000 km project from Greater Noida to Balia. The officials of the state government of UP has informed that the Chief Minister of UP, Mayawati will lay the foundation stone for the project on Monday and the company officials said that they are expecting the project to be completed within the next four years.
According to a senior official of the JP Associates, the company has quoted the best bid for the project and their bid was lower by around 50% than that of Reliance Energy. The official added that the entire project is going to be divided into four different sectors that are - Greater Noida to Fatehgarh of 253 Km, Fatehgarh to Dalmau (305 km), Dalmau to Aurai of 211 (km) and Aurai to Balia 278 (km). The official further added that JP Associates turned out to be the lowest bidder for all the sector separately and it also did submit a combined bid of Rs 293 crore for all the four sectors. This was the lowest bid by any company for the project and thus JP bagged the contract quite easily. The second lowest bid of Rs. 590 crore was submitted by the Reliance Energy.
While talking about the Ganga Expressway project, a top official from the state government of Uttar Pradesh, the government has already allotted around 63,110 hectare land for the project. However, the official also stated that the company could implement the project for only 10% of the land earmarked for the purpose, because of the aggressive bidding.
