NPCIL awards Rs. 38 crore order to Blue Star
The Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) has recently awarded a Rs. 38 crore order to the leading air conditioner maker company of India, Blue Star. The sources from the NPCIL have stated that the order has been awarded in order to air condition the first indigenously designed 500 Mw fast breeder reactor of India from the NPCIL. The NPCI: is building the fast breeder reactor for its Kalpakkam project.

According to a top official of the NPCIL, the company is building the reactor by using the design and technology of Kalpakkam-based Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). The official added that the air conditioner maker company Blue Star will perform the airconditioning works of the entire Kalpakkam project and this includes the supply of water-cooled centrifugal chillers as well. The official concluded by saying that the project is expected to be completed within a period of two years.
