The reality major DLF has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the construction company named Gayatri Projects (GPL). In a recent announcement made by the DLF, the company has stated that the MoU has been signed in order to develop a number of roads and highway projects in all over India. DLF has made the announcement in a statement on Thursday and according to the statement, the two companies are now planning to develop some projects that have a total valuation of a minimum of Rs. 1,000 crore every year.
The Vice Chairman of DLF, Mr. Rajiv Singh was contacted and requested to say something about the new MoU signed between DLF and GPL and in reply, he said, "Infrastructure is an attractive sector given the rising demand and focus of the government in promoting public-private partnerships (PPP) projects for effective co-ordination and facilitation of private investments in the sector. We see this venture as a vital catalyst in DLFs vision to expand its presence beyond the well-established verticals of residential, commercial and retail projects".
Mr. Singh was also talking about the benefits that both the companies are going to get from the new MoU and said, "It would help in leveraging DLFs expertise and GPLs credentials in their respective businesses to together tap the opportunities in the infrastructure space optimally". A source from the company added that he DLF-GPL were likely to form come special purpose vehicles for the development of highways, under the terms and conditions of the new agreement. The source concluded by informing that the Joint Venture (JV) company between the DLF and LOR named the DLF-Laing ORourke (LOR), would be playing the role of contractor for the projects of the DLF-GPL.
