One of the leading pharmaceuticals companies of India, the Dr. Reddys Laboratories has recently launched a new drug named Supanac (Diclofenac potassium immediate release 50 mg tablets) in India. The company officials have stated that the company increasing its product offering in Indias non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) market, with this launching.
The sources from the Indian pharmaceuticals industry are informing that the companys leading brands in this segment are named as the Nise and Retoz. The sources added that the market for the NSAID products in India is pegged at $688 million (Rs 2,700 crore) at the moment and the market is growing at a very good speed of 20 per cent per year. According to an expert from the market, the drug named Diclofenac has been marketed in India for a period of more than 15 years and it is being used widely by the physicians for the acute pain management.
