The foods and beverage manufacturer company, Amul has recently launched a high calcium milk named the Calci+. The officials of the company have stated that the new calcium milk is mainly aimed at helping the pregnant women, growing children and the young adults who meet their daily calcium requirements. The officials added that the milk is also targeted to help prevent diseases like osteoporosis.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) is the marketer of the product from Amul and this announcement has came form them on Monday. While talking about the new calcium milk in more details, the officials of GCMMF said that the Calci+ is coming at a price of Rs 35 a liter and it contains 100 per cent natural milk calcium. Informing that the milk does not contain any preservatives, the officials further said that it is simply subjected to a special sterilization process cal led ultra-heat treatment (UHT) and it has the capability to stay fresh for 120 days at room temperature.
According to the sources from the company, GCMMF is all set to strengthen its UHT milk portfolio, with its introduction. The company has also released a statement regarding the new product and said that the one-liter aseptically packed tetra-pack Amul Calci+ is being made available at all the Amul Preferred Outlets (APOs). Apart from the APOs, the milk would also be available in all the super markets and in the major A-class outlets across India from this month.
