New Plant Opened By Avery Dennison In Ranjangaon
The Avery Dennison Corporation has recently launched its latest production facility in Ranjangaon near Pune and the officials of the company have stated that the new facility will produce some advanced pressure-sensitive materials. The materials include the labeling materials, retail tag, ticketing and the branding systems and these would be used for the industrial and consumer products manufactured in the Asia Pacific region. The President and Chief Executive Officer of Avery Dennison, Mr. Dean A. Scarborough and the Managing Director, Materials, India of Avery Dennison, Mr. Raj Srinivasan was talking about the new facility and said that this is the companys third major facility in India.

Mr. Dean and Mr. Raj also said that the company has made a huge investment of over $13 million in this new facility. The sources from the industry are informing that the company did launch its Gurgaon facility in the year of 1997 and it acquired the Bangaluru-based Paxar, the label and tag maker in the month of June 2007. While talking about the new plant in Pune in more details, Mr. Dean said that the plant is situated in an area that is spread over 28 acres of land and a new hot melt tandem coating line has been included in this plant. He added that this new coating line is bringing in Avery Dennison Roll Materials Groups total investment in India to more than $30 million. He further said that the companys business units in the country include the roll materials, graphics, specialty tape and also the retail information services.

Mr. Raj was also talking about the companys other business units and said that though the company has unit like printing, it is not present in both the facilities at the moment. He added that about 65 per cent of the companys total sales was coming from outside of the US and another 25 per cent was coming from the emerging markets. According to him, sales in South Asia including the markets of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan did account for $100 million and it was also growing at a rate of 35 per cent per year.
