The major cosmetics products manufacturing company of the world, Alcome Perfumes & Cosmetics has recently informed that it is planning to set up its third plant in India soon. The US-based company is already having its global bottling operations in India and the company officials have informed that they are thinking of investing an amount of around Rs 100 crore for establishing the new plant.
According to the sources form the industry, the company is currently manufacturing fragrances at its existing plants in Noida and Bhiwadi for exporting the fragrances to 68 countries. The two plants are having a combined capacity of producing 1,10,000 bottles per day at the moment. The Managing Director of Alcome Overseas Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Hansraj Manghani was talking about their plans regarding the companys third plant and said, "The third plant costing Rs 100 crore in the Noida SEZ is expected to be operational by July. With the new plant, the total production capacity will go up to four lakh bottles per day".
While elaborating the other plans of the company, Mr. Hansraj said that Alcome was also planning to grab the domestic opportunities keeping in mind the growth in the Indian market. He added that the company has already carved out some big plans regarding this matter and said that the plans were soon to be announced. In his words, "Looking at Indian growth story, we will soon start selling in the Indian market as well. There are a number of retail players in the mass market segment here with whom we will partner along with wholesale distributors".
When asked about how the company is planning to utilize the capacity of the new plant, Mr. Hansraj said that they are thinking of using almost 33 per cent of the new plants capacity for domestic consumption. He said that they have also started exporting to the European market and have already received orders worth 12.5 million Euros from a number of retailers in the continent for the year of 2008. He concluded by saying that the new facility in Noida will fulfill the bulk demand of the company for exporting its products to the European retail market and also in the US and the Middle East.
