One of the leading automobile companies in India, the Honda Siel Cars India has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Greater Noida on Monday. The company officials have informed that the plant will increase the companys capacity from the current 50,000 to 100,000 units per year. The Chief Executive of Honda Siel Cars India, Mr. Masahiro Takedagawa inaugurated the new facility in Greater Noida and said that the capacity can also be ramped up by 16,000 units in the year of 2009.
A top official from the Honda Siel Cars India said that the company has already invested a huge amount of Rs 1,620 crore for the new Greater Noida manufacturing facility. He also said that the companys two-wheeler named Honda Civic hybrid will be rolling out from the new facility within a couple of months and the company will launch a petrol version small car in the year of 2009. The sources from the industry have informed that Hondas plant in Rajasthan is also going to be operational in the last quarter of 2009 and it will increase the companys total capacity to 200,000-240,000 units in India.
