ElringKlinger Ag offers new topseal housing components for engine and
Transmission. These sealing system ensure and optimally integrated sealing function, customised
to suit the practical operational conditions. This is ensured by the special height profiling of the
metal housing component in the areas between bolts- this topography helps achieve homogeneous
compression over the entire sealing system.
The ideal profile is developed using the finite element
method. In addition to component stiffness the dicisive influencing factors are the distance
between bolts as well as the operating conditions in the respective applications. Depending on
internal pressure, temperature distribution, and preload force, a topography is determined , which
guarantees uniform contact forces in the area of the seal under all boundary conditions. It is thus
possible to reliably prevent both as shortfall of the required minimum sealing force and a dynamic
overstressing of the elastomer seal. Application manual /automatic transmission, rear axle
transmission, steering gear, auxiliary units, pumps, oil pans,etc.
