The Countrys largest transmission utlity, PowerGrid Corporation (PGCIL), has signed two agreements with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) for strengthening the transmission system of (NDMC) for strengthening the transmission system of NDMC areas ashead of the Commonwealth Games at an estimated cost of Rs 212 crore.
Under the agreements, PGCIL would be responsible for construction of 66kV and 33kV substations, underground cable work and augmentation of transformer capacity.
It would also set up supervisory control and data acquisition/distribution management system in NDMC area electric supply distribution network to improve data communication system and energy according and billing.
