One of the leading companies in the Indian food and beverage sector, Dabur India has recently announced that it is planning to enter the milk segment soon. The officials of the company has informed that this is a part of the companys endeavour to diversify its product port folio further and Dabur is also planning to tap the Rs.100 Crore milk based beverages market with this move.
According to one of the spokespersons of the company, "We are exploring the option of entering into the value added milk based beverage market, but no time frames have been set for this foray. We are currently exploring the market". The sources from the industry added that the company is going to be the latest entrant into the segment after global beverages giants like Pepsi and Coke announced their respective plans to tap the milk based drink market in India.
One of the top officials of Dabur India has further informed that the company is looking for outsourcing milk at the moment, as it has clear intensions to limit itself to the value added milk based beverages. The official further said that the company is also not having any plans for entering the fresh milk in the dairy segment at the moment.
