Caparo will supply bodystructure components to the Tata Nano, claim Industry sources. The Lord Swraj Paul-owned Caparo Group, add sources, will produce the inner structural panels/components at a new facility in Singur, adjacent to the Tata Nano
plant. While Tata is expected to produce the skin panels in-house, keeping with the current industry trends the supply of structural panels is expected to be outsourced. To meet Tatas ambitious cost targets, Caparo is said to have installed a new semi-
automated production line with zero fault forward Quality control systems. With a focus on high Quality low cost production, the Nano is said to employ good deal of high tensile steel for the body structure.
