The major pharmaceuticals company in India, named the Intas Biopharmaceuticals Ltd (IBPL) has recently formed three new sales divisions in India. The company officials have informed that the sales divisions have been named as the Track, Aqua and Relay and the company has formed these divisions in order to give more focus on the companys product baskets in India. The officials added that all the divisions would be taking care of the sales and marketing of the companys biotech drugs, oncology and also the plasma products that are catering to the solid tumours, haematology and supportive therapies respectively.
The Ahmedabad-based company has already released an official statement regarding the issue and said that it has done the segregation of sales divisions, based on the therapeutic segments. The statement added that the main objective behind forming these division is to increase focus and penetration of oncology products in the domestic market. The Chief Executive (Marketing) of the company, Mr. Simon Daniel was talking about their plans further and said that the company is also planning to launch another new division within this calendar year, for giving an impetus to IBPLs sales activities. Informing that the new division is likely to be named as the Bridge, Mr. Daniel added that the division would be catering to the nephrology/neurology therapeutic areas.
While talking about the other developments of the company, Mr. Daniel informed that the company has already doubled its sales force for allowing more focused approach towards niche therapeutic areas of oncology, as a part of its new sales strategy. He said that the newly formed division named the Aqua will be looking after the sales activity of the companys plasma products like the Albumin and Globucel that are being marketed through an associated company of the IBPL, named the Celestial Biologicals. He further claimed that they are the only biotech company in India that manufactures Pegylated G-CSF and also simultaneously market the product under the brand name Neupeg.
