The major company in the packaged drinking water market in the state of Tamil Nadu, named the Sabol Associatess, has recently acquired the mineral water and soda division of a beverages company named BTM Beverages Pvt Ltd in Hubli, Karnataka. The Sabol Associatess is based in Coimbatore and the officials of the company have informed that they have acquired the plant for an investment of Rs 2.5 crore. The officials said that they are expecting that this new acquisition would enable them to expand their network in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa further.
Chairman and Managing Director of Sabol Associatess, Mr. K.M. Senthil was talking about the issue and informed that the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa are going to be the new markets for the company in the near future. He has signed the deal on behalf of the company with BTM Beverages and said that the mineral water and soda divisions of the BTM Beverages is having a capacity of producing 4,000 liters of packaged drinking water per hour. He added that they are planning to phase out the acquired brand from 1st April and the Sabol brand would also be launched from the same date.
Informing that the company is having an immediate plan to double the capacity of the plant by investing an amount of Rs 50 lakh, Mr. Senthil also said that he has planned to invest another Rs 5 crore over the next two years in the Hubli plant as well. He said that this investment would be made for launching some new products like soda, fruit juices etc and he is also expecting the plant to provide the company a sales turnover of Rs 5 crore during the next financial year. He further said that the company is also thinking of taking the franchise route for the state of Andhra Pradesh and they are hoping to finalize the plans for this within the next few months.
