In a recent official statement released by the company, the Vesuvio Papers Pvt Ltd has stated that it is going to set up a specialty paper manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli very soon. The company officials have stated that the new facility would be established with an investment of over Rs 70 crore and the facility is likely to have a production capacity of 100 tonne per day. The company is also expecting that the new plant would help it to increase its production capacity further.
The Vesuvio Papers is being promoted by an NRI businessman base in Germany, Mr. P. Chandrasekhar and the Director of the company is Mr. V. Rajagopalan. While commenting on the companys plans with the new facility, Mr. Rajagopalan said that the company is going to produce specialized papers like lamination papers, yellow interleaving papers and copier papers in the facility. He said that they are expecting the facility to start its production in the early part of the year of 2009 and the machinery has already been sourced and the company is also operating the construction work at the moment.
Mr. Rajagopalan was also talking about the other plans of the company with the new facility and said that the company primarily importing the product range that it is planning to manufacture in the facility. He said that this is a high value niche and the Vesuvio Papers will be using imported pulp for this. He added that the company is also planning to expand its business into the other grades of paper like packaging paper and tissue paper, after the initial phase.
